FamilySearch Groups
FamilySearch has recently created a new tool for you to get genealogical help in the comfort of your own home. You no longer need to go to the Family History Library in Salt Lake City to get much of the help that you need. This new tool is the Community Groups, and it's free!
In these groups you can post questions, documents for translation, take part in discussions, read announcements about webinars, and learn of various resources. You can also share your knowledge by answering questions from, translating documents for other members, or sharing information about resources; you will certainly know things that others won’t and you will be able to make the group more valuable for everyone. It will be a great learning tool.
There are many groups, some focused on specialized research and others on specific countries or groupings of countries. Here are some of the groups that you might be interested in:
- Germany
- Austro-Hungarian Empire
- Switzerland
- Belgium, Luxembourg, and The Netherlands
- Nordic Countries
You can join any or all of them! Please join and be active in these groups. It will be very rewarding to you and other genealogy researchers. Here's how to join for free:

We look forward to your participation!
